Alison, from Visalia, California in the US, submitted this iris folding challenge. She had this to say about how she completed the project:

" I used torn patterned paper for the sky, water and land. The paper for the sky looked like a watercolor wash of blues, greens, purples, pinks, and yellows. I tore it into about 1 inch pieces and separated them by color. I started in the upper corners with the mostly purple pieces, gradually switched to the pink pieces as I moved in, and kept the mostly yellow pieces for the area around the sun."

" The sun is made from folded velum strips with 1/8 inch ribbon glued to each strip. The cloud is made from double layers of white and sheer ribbon. I used folded strips of a patterned paper for the umbrella. The tree, dolphin and lighthouse were made using strips of cardstock (not folded). I enlarged the palm tree and reduced the lighthouse to help make the perspective work."
