Pattern Notes: Use carbon paper to copy this pattern to the back of your card stock so the letters get properly spaced. Or, trace around the pattern with a pen, pressing down hard enough to leave a slight impression, then cut along the lines you traced.

Free Pattern of the Month - November 2007
Gift Bow

Pattern Notes: The center part of the bow should be cut separately from card stock and glued to the front of your project after you have finished the iris folding. Cut out the openings for the iris folding where the dotted lines indicate. There will be two separate openings cut for this project.

Pattern Notes: Strips 5 and 6 need to be cut long enough to cover both sections marked 5 and both sections marked 6. The example project was made using fabric ribbon, pink ribbon for Pattern/Color A and C, and blue ribbon for Pattern/Color B and D.

Free Pattern of the Month - August 2007

Pattern Note: This pattern calls for 5 different papers but you can use less if you'd like and mix it up. It looks good even if you don't follow the pattern guide exactly!

Pattern Note: The #1 strip on this pattern is a double fold. Instead of folding the strip of paper in half, fold both edges in toward the center of the strip. Click Here to see an illustration of a double fold. To make this example we tore the paper along the bottom fold of our double folded strip to make it look like the cone had been dipped in chocolate.

Free Pattern of the Month - June 2007
Shirt

Pattern Notes: Cut your strips extra wide for numbers 1-4 on this pattern. The collar on this pattern uses corner folds. After lining the strip up with one of the lines in numbers 3 and 4 of the pattern, fold the strip back at about a 90 degree angle to line it up with the second line on the pattern for that number. See the corner folds link above for more info. Sew or glue buttons to the shirt front when you are done with the folding if you'd like.

Free Pattern of the Month - May 2007
Bunch of Grapes

Pattern Notes: When cutting out the iris folding opening, only cut out the vase shape. After you have finished iris folding the vase cut the leaves and flowers from card stock and glue them to the front of your card. Use a hole punch to cut out the flower centers.

Free Pattern of the Month - March 2007
Train

Pattern Notes: When cutting out the iris folding opening, do not cut out the clouds of smoke or the wheel areas. Cut those pieces out separately from card stock and adhere them to the front of the card after you have finished the iris folding. You also may want to glue down the top of the train where it gets cut out or piece that area instead of iris folding it.

Free Pattern of the Month - February 2007
Rose

Pattern Note: Only cut out the rose, not the leaves, to do the iris folding. Cut the leaves from green paper scraps and glue them to the front of your card after you have finished the iris folding. Paint or draw lines in the leaves if you would like.

Free Pattern of the Month - January 2007

Pattern Notes: Only cut the wheels out of the card stock you will be using for the iris folding. Cut the tractor body, exhaust pipe, and window separately from different card stock and glue those parts to the front of your card after you've finished the iris folding.
